ERASE THE PAST

Zhang was born between two worlds: the one-of-before which he was forbidden to see, and the one in which he will come to rule as future emperor. Though, not a day goes by without the whispers of the Old World creeping into his mind as he explores the gleaming, dead city of Shanghai. The structures scratch at the clouds in an attempt to caress the stars - at hope - though they cannot forget the ones that used to exist: the many millions which bustled at their feet and twirled around inside of them… All of human history happened down there, upon Earth – a seething broth of enlightenment, delusion, and suffering; all of which burrowed into the human psyche and manipulated their moral reasoning…

With all that erased, would we then deserve to journey to the stars? The neo-emperor believes this to be the only hope in a world which has fallen mute...

With the past forgotten and knowledge cautiously monitored, the new Chinese society can emerge. Their vision will be fixated upon the stars; in anticipation of a race which operates through a single synaptic-impulse: to endure for the sake of societal apotheosis. Unbeknown to them, there will be no segregation nor discrimination as with their predecessors. They will be one of a kind… Mankind.

The stars call out to Zhang, too, for he fixates his vision upon them each night in wonder. They have peered down upon this world longer than humans have called this place home. They have witnessed all of our lives, seeing all of which Zhang can only dream of… How far will he go to witness the Old World? Just a shy glint, as weak and strenuous as one of those faraway glows he's sent so many wishes up to. He would do anything to catch a glimpse of the past - the place he is destined to condemn and abandon. He refuses to admit that it is dead. That is a thought he dare not even whisper internally.

If only there were a way he could bring it all back...

In
Heaven

(Sequel to Heaven's Hell)

Would you rather all of one thing or a little bit of everything?

Humans are thriving upon Heaven. Death is an unfathomable concept of our ancient existence, one which sickens the perennial inhabitants of this wonderful planet. As promised in scriptures aeons ago, Heaven is a land of abundance and bliss; a reward not earned and now totally abused.

Perhaps one of the last philosophers left, it is one man's purpose to revive the soul of humanity. But he is against everyone. He is desperate to believe that humans can become moral and purposeful again. Though he is willing to condemn them if his struggle is futile: destroy them all.

My name is Morgan Race and I am an author and filmmaker from the UK. I am fascinated by the allure of ideology and how belief in such doctrines can breed many translations of morality, prosperity and utopia. I view Science-Fiction as a vast, encompassing genre which can expound whole universes to the mind; portraying dreams of our future, allowing us to bask in our innovations, and fulfil great prophecies - but most important of all, speak the truth... Science-fiction is a mirror which we must hold up to society and peer long and hard into - to not be avoidant of the reflection, but admit what we see. We must speak honestly about our history, and especially our present.

My books aim to address these issues and incorporate all that I love about this world and of humankind, I hope you relate and enjoy them.
